Second Singers Chorus -- SEEKS SINGERS

Image
Second Singers Chorus -- SEEKS SINGERS The start of a new year means the start of a new project.  I have decided to start a virtual choir in 2019 and I am wondering who might be interested in singing in such a choir.  If you are a singer (inworld or out), I hope you will consider it.  There are some basic requirements for singers in this new chorus.  1.  Singers must be able to record themselves singing and send recordings to me in either wav or mp3 format.  2.  Singers must be willing to exchange email addresses with me so that we can share sound and sheet music files between us.  3.  Singers must be able to play mp3 rehearsal tracks which I'll be sending to singers to help them learn their music.  4.  Singers must tell me in advance what voice part they usually sing (Soprano, alto, tenor, bass). 5. It would be nice to have head shots of all singers involved.  6. At some point, we will want to put on a concert in SL.  It would be good if all choristers could be

Silas Merlin Brings Baba Yaga (And A Whole Bunch More Fanciful Figures) To Belle Demeure

Silas Merlin has been making and sharing art in SL for quite some time now.  He is the owner of The Silas Gallery in New Babbage Square, but his work can be found at many locations in SL and Sansar.  Sunday, January 27, Silas begins a three-month residency at Belle Demeure.  His work is displayed on our Back 40 and the show opens today at 2 PM SLT.

News From Belle Demeure

Image
Hi all-- Hex and I will be taking a short break from virtual worlds in early February.  This means Jez (the other me) will be AWOL as well.  Some events will surely occur here during our absence, but I'll be unavailable for inworld emergencies or questions Feb. 2- 9.  During our vacation time, Hex and I will be going camping for a few days, fishing some, seeing some arts events in our community, and doing some of the work that must be done to ready our RL home for sale.  This time away is the reason this month's Belle Demeure newsletter is a two-parter that overlaps with February.  NOTE TO ALL WHO HOST EVENTS AT BELLE DEMEURE:  For inclusion in our next newsletter, please have event listings to me no later than Feb. 9 at 3 AM SLT.  If you would like events listed in our calendar or posted to the SL Events Guide, get them to me by 3 AM the Wednesday before the event is scheduled.  _______________________________________________________________________________ Wednesday, Jan

Coming To The Poesy Gallery: Keyah Kyomoon's MINDLANDS

Image
Keyah Kyomoon's poetry will challenge you to think and defy you not to laugh out loud.  One of SL's most prolific poets is well known for candor and a sharp focus on telling the truth, no matter how outrageous, painful, or rediculous that truth may seem.  Keyah is not shy or shallow and this shows in the poems set for display in The Poesy Gallery at Belle Demeure.  The poems included in Mindlands are accompanied by art that is every bit as provocative as the poetself.  Two of SL's best known spoken word performers, Klannex Northmead and Freda Frostbite, will perform several of Keyah's poem at the opening of Mindlands this Sunday .   Both are excited to have this opportunity to share the work of a fellow poet they admire and appreciate.  The opening celebration and poetry reading will start at 2 PM SLT at the Poesy Gallery.

I plan to start this choir
