Silas Merlin has been making and sharing art in SL for quite some time now.  He is the owner of The Silas Gallery in New Babbage Square, but his work can be found at many locations in SL and Sansar.  Sunday, January 27, Silas begins a three-month residency at Belle Demeure.  His work is displayed on our Back 40 and the show opens today at 2 PM SLT.

Will dance and chat and explore Sarah Brightman's concept album, DIVE! Brightman has one of the most gorgeous voices in pop/classical and Broadway today. Her song choices for DIVE are truly exceptional. Formal attire suggested, but certainly not required.

Keyah Kyomoon's poetry will challenge you to think and defy you not to laugh out loud.  One of SL's most prolific poets is well known for candor and a sharp focus on telling the truth, no matter how outrageous, painful, or rediculous that truth may seem.  Keyah is not shy or shallow and this shows in the poems set for display in The Poesy Gallery at Belle Demeure.  The poems included in Mindlands are accompanied by art that is every bit as provocative as the poetself.  Two of SL's best known spoken word performers, Klannex Northmead and Freda Frostbite, will perform several of Keyah's poem at the opening of Mindlands this Sunday .   Both are excited to have this opportunity to share the work of a fellow poet they admire and appreciate.  The opening celebration and poetry reading will start at 2 PM SLT at the Poesy Gallery.

Hello everyone!  In first life, Hex and I had a quiet Christmas with my daughter and her dad.  We didn't even put the tree up til Christmas Eve, which suited me just fine.  It'll come down by New Years, which also suits me.  Christmas Day, we went out to dinner at a diner about 30 miles from home.  It was really pretty impressive, so I suspect we'll be headed there for future holiday dinners.  (In case anyone wonders-- yes, we cook.  We even cook well.  But why bother when someone else can do the clean-up at a restaurant?) In less wonderful news, Hex is temporarily unemployed because of the US government shutdown.  For a while at least, that won't affect our inworld expenditures and activities.  If it reaches a point where it does, we'll still be around but doing things differently. Considered both comedy and romance, The Winter's Tale contains The Bard's most famous (and challenging?) stage direction: "Exit, pursued by a bear."  Join us in Second Life to listen to the play and find out what that's about! The Shakespeare Circle at Belle Demeure is pleased to present The Winter's Tale by William Shakespeare in December and January. We'll listen to and discuss Acts 1-3 December 8 at 6 PM SLT. Anime and fantasy style artwork and illustrations influenced by eastern design concepts and principles. Ian has shown his RL art on prim for over 12 years in second life. He has had galleries and shows at most major art sims and events and has been a virtual curator himself, showing 4 SL artists a month. Just last year he had a RL exhibition at a local gallery which went well and is hoping to display at comicons next. He is currently working on a fantasy board game, created from scratch. Illustrating all board pieces, cards and character art. The real challenge will be making 3D printed models for characters and monsters. 3D design is a new challenge but one which will also be shown in second life in a year or so.
