January will be a BIG month at Belle Demeure

Hello everyone!  In first life, Hex and I had a quiet Christmas with my daughter and her dad.  We didn't even put the tree up til Christmas Eve, which suited me just fine.  It'll come down by New Years, which also suits me.  Christmas Day, we went out to dinner at a diner about 30 miles from home.  It was really pretty impressive, so I suspect we'll be headed there for future holiday dinners.  (In case anyone wonders-- yes, we cook.  We even cook well.  But why bother when someone else can do the clean-up at a restaurant?)

In less wonderful news, Hex is temporarily unemployed because of the US government shutdown.  For a while at least, that won't affect our inworld expenditures and activities.  If it reaches a point where it does, we'll still be around but doing things differently.

Now for inworld news!  Before December ends, I will be giving two more performances of my concert, A Winter Celebration, and there will be a New Year's Eve ball at Belle Demeure Ouest.  Info for those three events is included below.  In January, there will be a lot happening at Belle Demeure and Belle Demeure Ouest.  We'll have a spoken word open mic, two new gallery exhibits opening, The JezeBelles Dancers will premier their new show, Getaway, and our new amusement park, Grande Belle Folie will be under construction.  Of course, The Shakespeare Circle will hold its monthly event and I'll be hosting quiet write-ins a few random times each week.  Below are the details for all our upcoming events.

You may or may not be aware that Freda used to sing in SL as her alt, Lark Nocturne. Then, winter 2017-18 happened and Freda (and all the girls) needed to take a break from virtual worlds to focus on her first life. Now, she's back but streamlining her virtual lives as much is possible. Lark is retired for the foreseeable future and Freda will sing, but not as frequently as Lark did.

Freda's recital of seasonal songs include some about winter holidays, Chanukah to Epiphany, and some songs about the season of nature's rest and renewal. Her songs range from traditional and classical carols to spirituals, folk tunes, rock, jazz, and pop. Some are brand new to Freda's (or Lark's) repertoire; others have been part of her show for years in first and second life. Come for a show or two and being your friends!

Ian is an inventive and modern graphic artist.  His work reflects his personality (which is a good thing, FTR) and his interests.  This is not his fist show in SL or even his first show hosted by Frostbite Thane.  His work will hang for several weeks, so we hope you'll come back time and again.  Also, please consider purchasing some of Ian's work.  I promise you won't regret it.

Come to share your work or the work of a writer you enjoy.  Poems will be shared in local voice.  If you are shy or unable to read in local, just provide Freda with your work on a notecard and she will happily read it for you.  To avoid copyright infringement issues, work will NOT be shared in local text.  This means you must be able to hear local voice in order to enjoy the literary offerings.
